Q: What is your handle or name you go by in the community.
A: ” “Linkinpark9812”, a bad, old username from back in the day that I won’t let die for some reason, or just “Miles”
Q: Where do you live?
A: United States – Midwest
Q: What initially drew you into cryptocurrency? (the tech, the investment side, the community aspects, the socio-economic)
A: Being a developer myself, I gained an interest in the underlying Blockchain tech. However, I did see an investment opportunity as well. The community aspects came later as I became closer with the Vericoin/Verium community.
Q: When and how did you first learn of either VeriCoin and/or Verium?
A: A reddit post in December 2017. I then started looking into the 2 chains in more detail and was drawn in.
Q: What aspects of this project made you want to get involved?
A: The community as well as the unique approach to blockchain tech as a currency (with the dual blockchain). It made it stand out from many of the other cryptocurrencies. I have always had my doubts of a blockchain tech being used as a mainstream currency, but I feel that this project’s approach offers potential solutions.
Q: What are some things you have done to help the project so far?
A: While I do answer some questions on Slack, I have contributed with a couple videos involving a proof of concept of a payment system with Vericoin, as well as creating a web wallet for Vericoin and Verium, vrcwebwallet.com. I may integrate the two in a larger proof of concept in the future.
Two videos previewing Miles’ work on the Point of Sale Payment Systems (more to come on this in the future):
Q: In your opinion, what are some of the most urgent needs of the project that you will like to see improved or changed?
A: Setting more realistic deadlines and expectations. It is better to come in under your estimates than over, client work has taught me that over the years. Implementing AuxPOW, as that is what will make the coin really unique in the cryptocurrency space.
Q: Aside from cryptocurrencies, what are some of your other interests (sports, music, art, science, politics, etc)?
A: Anything tech related, including embedded electronics programming. I also ride motorcycles and enjoy driving in general and working on vehicles. I am interested in politics but keep my views to myself mostly. I know a bit about firearms and enjoy shooting at the range. By the way, if anyone has a 2014 Ford Mustang GT Premium with a manual trans and is black for sale, let me know! 😛
Q: Do you have anything you would like to share with the community?
A: Yes! Continue to introduce people to Vericoin and Verium. Explain the tech and let them ask questions and be honest, yet positive, with the project. Honesty is the best policy. Also, please contribute what you can! Anyone can contribute! Adding and cleaning up the KB, answering questions on slack, spreading the word, etc. You don’t have to be a developer or geek to contribute! We are community driven and appreciate everyone’s contributions!
